Thoughts To Ponder

Auntie Lynn has been posting quotes from "Seeking the Face of God" By Gary Thomas.
It would behoove you to visit her blog daily and spend some time studying these quotes. Here are three that particularly apply to the Christian walk and self-discipline:

"Setting goals, but being unwilling to train toward them leaves us worse off than ignoring goals altogether, for we have done nothing but add an element of insincerity to our lives."

"Spiritual training assumes we can change--that the lazy can, in cooperation with the Spirit's work, become more diligent, the selfish can learn to love, and the cruel can learn to be kind. We needn't see ourselves as slaves to the darker sides of our personalities."

" That's just the way I am" is a confession of sloth, not humility."

After reading these I always feel convicted, edified, and encouraged--ready to begin a new day in pursuit of those character traits not easily exercised by my weak flesh. I hope you will give these some thought and share with me your comments. - Love, Pritchett
